Service terms — Ormond Movers

These terms apply to every booking. They are written to be read, not buried. Governing law: Victoria, Australia.

1. What you are buying

An hourly moving service. Current rates:

• 1 mover + truck: A$129.00/hour — everything must be packed and boxed; no single item beyond a two-person lift unless you assist.
• 2 movers + truck: A$169.00/hour — standard for 2+ bedroom homes, heavy furniture and stairs.

Prices are not subject to GST while Ormond Movers is below the GST registration threshold. If GST registration occurs, prices will state GST explicitly.

2. How time is billed

• Billing runs from our arrival at the pickup address until the job is finished at the destination.
• Minimum charge: 3 hours. After the minimum, time is billed in 15-minute increments.
• Worked time is recorded on the job and confirmed with you at signoff.

3. Estimates are estimates

Any price we give before the job is an estimate, not a fixed price. It is our honest calculation from the details you give us (home size, packing status, stairs, carry distance, bulky items). The final price is the recorded time at the booked hourly rate plus any disclosed extras. If, on arrival, the job is materially different from what was described, we will tell you the revised estimate before continuing.

4. Extras (always disclosed at quote time)

• Travel — included inside our core service area. Outside it, A$2.50 per km each way beyond the boundary, quoted up front.
• Stairs — first flight included. Each extra flight adds A$15.00 per flight per mover.
• Long carry — if truck parking is more than 20 m from the door, a one-off A$30.00 charge applies.

5. Deposit and payment

• A deposit of 20% of the minimum charge, capped at A$100, secures your booking and is credited to your final invoice.
• The balance is payable on completion of the job, at signoff.

6. What we do not move at launch

Pianos, pool tables, safes over 100 kg, marble furniture and similar specialty heavy items are declined at launch and referred to specialists. Honest scope beats damaged goods. We also do not offer packing services or rubbish/disposal runs at launch.

7. Your responsibilities

See the customer responsibilities page. In short: packed and sealed before arrival (solo option), accurate inventory and access details, parking arranged, and high-value valuables travel with you.

8. If something is damaged

We record any damage on the job with photos, acknowledge it with you at signoff, and the founder resolves it directly with you within 5 business days. See the damage process.

9. Liability

We take reasonable care with your goods and perform the service with due care and skill. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law; nothing in these terms limits those rights. Items we have declined to move (clause 6), goods you packed that fail internally, and undeclared fragile or high-value items are outside our service scope.
